It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the website of the College of Science at Yonsei University.

Natural science is a discipline that explores the principles and laws of nature and generates new knowledge. At the same time, it provides fundamental solutions to the diverse challenges facing humanity today, including climate change and environmental issues, energy and resources, advanced materials, space, and quantum science. As the scientific and technological landscape continues to evolve at an unprecedented pace, the importance and role of basic science are greater than ever.<./p>

Since the establishment of the Department of Physics and Mathematics at Yonhi College in 1915, the College of Science at Yonsei University has led the development of natural science education and research in Korea for more than 110 years.

Today, the College comprises six undergraduate departments as well as five graduate departments and programs. A total of 107 faculty members, approximately 1,400 undergraduate students, and more than 800 graduate students and researchers are dedicated to education and research in their respective fields, shaping the present and future of the College of Science.

Building on this proud tradition and our accumulated strengths, the College of Science seeks to take a further leap forward as a leading institution that produces world-class research and nurtures the next generation of scientists who will shape the future of science.

We will strive to create an environment where our faculty can devote themselves to creative and challenging research; where undergraduate students can cultivate their intellectual curiosity and dreams in the natural sciences; and where graduate students and researchers can fully develop their capabilities and grow on the global stage.

We will also foster a research environment that encourages open exchange and collaboration across disciplinary and departmental boundaries, enabling the College of Science to play a central role in strengthening Yonsei University's research competitiveness and global standing.

Above all, I believe that the advancement of the College of Science begins with the participation and communication of every member of our community. We will listen attentively to the voices of our students, faculty, researchers, and staff, respect one another, and work together to build a College of Science in which we can all grow together.

The College of Science at Yonsei University will take the lead in ensuring that our relentless pursuit of basic science leads to new discoveries, and that those discoveries become a driving force for a better future for our society and humanity.
